Malcolm's recent stint as a writer on season 4 of The CROWN (NETFLIX) was the latest triumph in a busy writing and screenwriting career. Formerly a community worker and NHS manager, the first TV screenplay he ever wrote was optioned and taken into development at BBC Scotland Drama. Since then he has written half hour episodes of popular kids BBC TV drama MI HIGH, and became chief writer on the 2nd series of anarchic TV game show 'The Dog Ate my Homework' (it won a BAFTA).
Malcolm has also had screenplays and comedies optioned by ISLAND PICTURES, KUDOS PRODUCTIONS, DLT ENTERTAINMENT, BBC COMEDY & TWO FOUR DIGITAL. He also secured a comedy development deal with AVALON TELEVISION.
Malcolm also writes for BBC radio, stand-up comedians and has been a journalist for the Big Issue (Arts and Music), The Skinny (Theatre), The List Eating & Drinking Guide (Food & Drink), and ARTMAG (Arts, Food and Theatre).
He's also an artist and musician.

Alasdair Soussi is a Scots-born journalist, author, curator and filmmaker.
Alasdair has worked as a Senior Producer for Al Jazeera Digital, made short documentaries for Al Jazeera's social media platforms and is author of the biography, Shadows & Light: The Extraordinary Life of James McBey, which was published by Edinburgh's Scotland Street Press in December 2022.
Between February and May 2023 he curated an exhibition based on and named after his biography at Aberdeen Art Gallery.
The screen adaptation of Shadows and Light, co-written with BBC and Netflix screenwriter, Malcolm McGonigle, is Alasdair's first screenplay.
As a journalist he has reported from the likes of Beirut, Cairo, Freetown and Madrid.
He lives in Glasgow with his wife and two young daughters - and writes regularly for Al Jazeera Digital in a freelance capacity.
